NEWS The results from last month's poll are in. The questions: How long does it take you to write a song? If you're in a band how many members write the songs? And when you write songs with others, do you write together or separately? It turns out that 29% of you only take an hour to write a song, with a tie for 23% of you taking a month and 23% of you never really being finished writing. 53% of bands write the songs with all members contributing. And finally, a whopping 70% of you write songs together with other people rather than each writing your parts separately. Thanks to everyone who put in their votes. And now for this month's poll, we're doing some research on mp3 players and thought we'd ask our loyal readers about theirs. We have questions such as do you own one, what type and what features does it have? Be sure to check out our homepage to cast your votes!
NEW GEAR Our recording and mixing software, Cakewalk's Sonar, has come out with a new version, so now we own Sonar 5. It has a bunch of new features that we're excited to start using. The most exciting is something called V-Vocal Variphrase which can tune your vocal performance, tighten up the rhythm, and also change the tone of your voice (which is handy for doing your own backup vocals when you want it to sound like someone else). And Sonar has a bunch of other fun features that will mean nothing to you, but help us out tremondously.
